The Flames acquired the rights to sign forward Rene Bourque from the Chicago Blackhawks on frenzy day for a future (assuming it's 2009) second round pick.

The 6'2", 213 pound forward may fit in well with the club with his size on the third line. He hasn't been a big pool-type player, but the speed and grit of the third line in Calgary may see an improvement in his play and his numbers. It's a very wait-and-see pick-up.
